Characterizations and Kinetic Modelling of Boride Layers on Bohler K190 Steel

چکیده

In this study, the Bohler K190 steel, manufactured by powder metallurgy (PM) process, was subjected to boronizing process. This thermochemical treatment carried out in range of 1173 1323 K, for 1–10 h. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) utilized examining morphology layers’ interfaces with a dual-phase nature and measuring thicknesses. obtained boronized layers had maximum thickness 113 ± 4.5 µm. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) confirmed presence FeB Fe2B layers. energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) mapping EDS point were used investigate redistribution chemical elements within transition zone. values Vickers microhardness Fe2B, FeB, zone estimated. Finally, boron activation energies found be 204.54 196.67 kJ·mol−1 based on integral method compared literature results.
